Our Technology

Endodontic therapy provides a predictable method to retain most teeth. The evolution of treatment has been greatly influenced by new technologies. With that being said, we have available to us many new devices and methods to make your care comfortable and successful. However, it is very important to remember that choosing the appropriate instruments and techniques for your treatment is why our years of clinical experience are so important.

STA™ Single Tooth Anesthesia System

The STA™ System technology utilizes computer controlled local anesthesia delivery to enhance the injection process for both the dentist and the patient. Audio and visual confirmations make injections like the PDL more accurate and less stressful. STA increases confidence administering the Block - proper technique prevents needle deflection - improving the ability to inject into the Block the first time. Single tooth anesthesia means patients return to their routine without collateral numbing.

Digital Radiography

This technology utilizes sensors that instantly transmit the radiographic image of your tooth directly onto an operatory computer monitor. This system lowers the already low dosage radiation needed to take a conventional film by over 90%. Because these images are digital, they can be enlarged and enhanced to help in the diagnosis and treatment of your tooth. These images are archived in your dental record, and can also be e-mailed to your referring doctor.

Operating Microscopes

In addition to digital radiography, we utilize special operating microscopes. Magnification and fiber optic illumination are helpful in aiding the doctor to see tiny details inside your tooth.

Apex Locators

These are instruments that can electronically help determine where the end, or terminus, of the root is located. This is most critical in successful endodontic therapy.

Ultrasonics

These devices help in locating canals, removing obstructions from canals and in cleaning canals.

Nickel-titanium instruments

These instruments have helped to revolutionize endodontics. They have greater flexibility than the standard stainless instruments, allowing more efficient cleaning and shaping of the canals. These instruments are able to follow the different curves and bends that are encountered. This will allow for more complete removal of bacteria and any debris that accumulates in canals.

Electric motors and handpieces

These instruments are used along with the nickel-titanium files. Being electric, the motor’s speed and torque can be easily managed, resulting in more control in cleaning root canals.

Our Happy Customers

"I have had two procedures done by Dr. Sprague. The first was about a year ago and I had a root canal and new crown done all in the same visit. He was very competent, affordable, fast and caring."

Maya

"He really is a wonderful dentist. I have been plagued with dental problems always and he made me feel so at ease, everyone there is great. I had extensive dental work done and he was great as were his prices. He is very gentle and thoughtful and even called to see how I was doing afterwards. And he is easily accessible in a dental emergency, which is a huge deal. He makes the experience as pleasant as it can be, if you need proof see me laughing in the dentist chair in the video by Yelp on his website...I was about to have a tooth extraction and a bone graft. He's awesome!"

"Just the best dentist ever. Dr Sprague is extremely professional and caring. His assistant, Idania is also very nice and helpful. Highly recommended!"
